Here is a picture of the Casa De Dios House of Yahweh food bank and soup kitchen just off Hawthorne Blvd (not too far from the bridge). A hundred feet to your right is the Lawndale City Hall and Civic Center. Behind the wall to the right is a courtyard with rows of old picnic tables where the homeless eat cooked lunches and the working poor pick up their food bank groceries. Creepy and I ate there occasionally. Next door to the left is a used clothing and trash store operated by Sister Michele. Across the street to the north is the entrance to the One Stop California state employment office but I never saw any customers of the Casa De Dios go over there.
