1936. Will Hay stars as the appalling "Captain Cutlet" who tells tall stories as a way of getting free booze. His cover is blown and - as an unwitting part of an insurance scam- he finds himself captain of a cargo vessel...with predictable results. Hay's facial expressions are sublime. There is also a marvelously dangerous-looking stunt involving the collapse of a fake section of pier. The stunt man appears to put himself at considerable risk- and was probably paid about 10 shillings and sixpence for his efforts.
