"We are being ordered to war in the footsteps of veterans who more than 10 years ago, were sent to fight in the first gulf war. Many of these veterans returned with severe, unacknowledged illnesses, many gave birth to severely deformed children, many were abandoned by the V.A.," this video states in part.
What's new about this? I have first hand experience in this abandonment from thirty years ago. I am a service-connected disabled American military veteran and I get treated like a bum at the V.A. I didn't get my meager V.A. disability check this month because the V.A. wants to play games with my records again. Screw a country that treats its veterans so shabbily.
What's new about this is only the AMOUNT of funds being diverted away from veterans programs and social services to fund the war. It's a despicable slight of hand our government can get away with because, let's be honest: Americans don't give a rat's ass about their veterans.
Don't give me your flag waving hypocritical lip service to the contrary. Follow the numbers. The facts speak for themselves.
In my humble opinion, one of the major organizations that gives aid and comfort to the enemy is our own Department of Veterans Affairs. That department's well-documented shabby treatment of American military veterans gives impetus to war protesters and confirms our enemies allegations that we are a nation of butt-sniffing infidel horndogs.
