In the homeless veterans shelter sober-living facility that I lived at in Inglewood, California:
70 percent of the guys were there because of crack and/or meth.
20 percent were there because their felonies (probably crack and meth induced) were scaring away employers.
5 percent were homeless because back child support / alimony payments caught up with them.
3 percent were just plain shithouse rat crazy
and the last 2 percent were adventure junkies who'd gone too far in some ill-conceived misadventure or another ( I was a 2 percenter ).
I saw first hand at that shelter---and on the streets I lived on before shelter life occured to me---the utter devastation crack and meth has on people. Yeah, yeah. Drugs bad. We all know this. But do we REALLY? Anyone want to see some scary before and after meth pics? Here ya go...
