I voluntarily checked myself in to this veterans homeless shelter in Inglewood that I'm living in now. I signed up for the Veterans In Progress (VIP) program.

I didn't qualify for the Fathers (FAT) program because I don't owe any alimony, I'm not a High Barrier (HEEB) felon fresh from the joint or lunatic asylum and I'm not a recovering drug addict fresh from the V.A. 6-month addict lockdown (RTC), so VIP was the only program they had for me.

The first 90 days, you're in a sort of lockdown situation:

You must be in your quad room area by 10 p.m. curfew every night or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You must be in your bunk bed by midnight bedcheck
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You can't smoke cigarettes from 10 p.m. until 4 a.m. every night
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You cannot have any visitors in your three-man dorm room at any time, day or night,
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

Any visitors that you do have (allowed from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. in public areas only) must register with the racist, leering, hateful, strawboss, uncouth, power-tripping ex-con Resident Assistant first
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You cannot be in your assigned bunk bed, room or quad area at any time between 8 a.m. until 4p.m. Monday through Friday
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You must attend morning meetings at 8 a.m. every morning Monday through Friday wearing a suit, tie and shined shoes so that a pissed off ex-drug addict counsellor can berate your job skills every morning
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You must attend a plethora of bullshit classes during the day for which the 'counsellors' receive per diems
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You must document that you have contacted 5 prospective employers per day, every day, five days a week
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You must get permission from the R.A. each and every time you leave the property for any reason; sign out and sign back in with times and explanations
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You must attend evening meetings where you confess your shortcomings and worthlessness
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

You must get permission from the R.A. to take insulin (must be taken in the R.A.'s office) or any prescription drug (must prove that you're taking an authorized script) or aspirin or certain mouthwashes
or they can kick you out of the program and back to the street.

And a lot of other regulations about where and when you can eat, piss, snore, fart and raise your voice, boss, but once you get used to inbred morons bossing you around for their own entertainment, it's okay.
This is the way we need to treat military veterans to keep them in their place.

On the weekends I still go over to Crenshaw and help my 73 year-old camper-dwelling, dog poop-smelling attorney. This weekend I got him and my ex-roommate Creepy signed up at my old wino labor hall, Labor Ready AND I've got the old atheist interested in Christianity . . . so now we're going to church together when I'm not busy being "rehabilitated" (aaaaaahhhh haaaaa haaaa haaaa!) back into mainstream society.

Digg!
