Irony stalks me through the streets. Night and day.
Remember that U.S. Vets career 'counsellor' deciding my auto parts driver future last week? Well, today, like some Greek tragedy hero, I set out to avoid that fate by going on a job interview in Santa Monica for Macintosh Multitasker. The job starts at 30 K. I can live on that (and half of that . . . and half of half of that half).
So my car, The Pig, broke down on the way to the computer job interview. I pushed my heavy pig to a PeP Boys auto parts/repair shop and paid $250 for a new alternator, serpantine belt and battery (plus labor).
Guess what? While I was waiting on the repair, one of the PeP Boys mentioned to me they were hiring . . . for an auto parts delivery driver.
I capitulated to Irony and filled out the application.
