The Homeless Prophet


I remember this guy from when I used to hang out on Santa Monica's 3rd Street Promenade. I never panhandled when I was homeless, preferring the dignity of driving call girls (when I could get a car) in Hollywood and Beverly Hills or doing odd jobs for the Labor Ready day labor hall in Torrance. Sometimes I made a few bucks working as a movie extra.

I never panhandled, but I did enjoy going down to the two main places where professional panhandlers plied their trade: 3rd Street Promenade and the Venice Beach boardwalk. They had a thousand and one hustles, these guys

  1. Dude, it's 2am. I can't listen to that dude babble for 38 minutes. Sounds like he's got his shit togethar though. Lots of time to think shit up out there, I guess.
